NHS Volunteer Responders Service

The NHS Volunteer Responders service offers: 

• Check In and Chat: A Check In and Chat volunteer provides short-term telephone support to people in need of a friendly phone call and encouragement to improve their mental health and wellbeing.  
• Check In and Chat Plus: A Check In and Chat Plus volunteer provides regular telephone support to people who may be housebound and have little contact with others or have recently been discharged from hospital and are in need of companionship and encouragement to improve their mental health and wellbeing. 

Services can also include the transport of equipment and stewarding people at vaccination sites.

If you, someone you know, or someone you care for would like support from volunteers, please contact your GP, pharmacist or other healthcare professional who will be able to make a request on your behalf.
