Live well with pain

At Clifton Court we strive to work in partnership with patients to ensure holistic care in line with the latest scientific research.  In recent years studies have shown that certain medications that were once considered safe and effective when taken regularly for more than a few months or in combination are no longer safe and may even make the original problem worse.

These include the following:

  • opioids (morphine-based painkillers such as codeine, tramadol, oxycodone)
  • benzodiazepines
  • sleeping tablets (e.g. Zopiclone)
  • gabapentin
  • pregabalin

At our Live Well with Pain Service you will get help with reducing your medication and using alternative strategies to manage your pain with our lead GP in pain management Dr Becky Kinchin.  Please contact the Surgery for more information.
