Medications that are not safe
There are some medications that doctors thought were safe to take for more than a few months, or with other medications. Studies have shown that actually they are not safe, and could make the problem worse.
These include:
- opioids - morphine-based painkillers such as codeine, tramadol, oxycodone
- benzodiazepines
- sleeping tablets, for example Zopiclone
- gabapentin
- pregabalin
